Anthropic launched Claude for Open Source — six months of free Claude Max 20x for qualifying open-source maintainers. Up to 10,000 contributors will be accepted, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Eligibility (meet one):

  • Primary maintainer or core team member of a public repo with 5,000+ GitHub stars
  • Maintain a project with 1,000,000+ monthly NPM downloads
  • Must have commits, releases, or PR reviews within the last 3 months

If you don’t strictly fit the criteria but maintain something the ecosystem depends on, Anthropic says to apply anyway and explain your contributions. Applications are open at claude.com/contact-sales/claude-for-oss.
